compass rose on left wrist
The rose I want is probably too big for my wrist, so it'll probably have to go closer to the crook of my arm (I believe the crook is called a "ditch" in some circles). Below is the oldest known signed and dated nautical chart of Portuguese origin:
It was drawn up by Jorge de Aguiar in 1492. I can't find it anywhere, but I swear I once read that Jorge's father made the oldest surviving complete map of the world, or something similarly impressive. Regardless, the compass rose from the Portuguese chart is beautiful.
