rainbow mayne || throwback thursday

I wasn't allowed to dye my hair when I was younger- not even natural colours. My parents were a little strict, but when I turned 18, they let up on the reigns a bit, so of course I went a little nuts with the hair dye! I actually ended up completely frying my hair with bleach, and I'm still working on growing it out. I've learned a lot since then, so hopefully my future hair adventures won't be quite so damaging!

I thought I'd share some of my favourite pics of my hair over the past four years or so. Be warned, I'm really bad at remembering to take photos of my new hair colour, so lots of these are incidental photos, hahah.
July of 2010 (I'm so rad lol) early November of 2010... perfect colour for a Lemmings cosplay! ;) late November of 2010 (faded); at a Texas Stars game with my oldest friend, Ari December of 2010; shaved my head for the second time (more on that later), this time just for funsies June of 2011; at the Duke Nukem Forever release party with Liz July of 2011 (faded) September of 2011 November of 2011 (faded); tbh I only included this pic because it's Josh's & my first photo together (at a themed party, no less) /mush January of 2012 (more faded); playing the Virtual Boy May of 2012 (faded... I dyed it at some point between this photo and the previous photo); with a Poison Ivy cosplayer at Comic-con June of 2012 (more faded); it was prom day at work! Sensitive info (poorly) edited out July of 2012; being a goat scratching post with my bestie Jennie October of 2012 (faded); 2-year workiversary at GBX! March of 2013 (more faded) May of 2013; helping out at my godson Kenji's 5th birthday party at Niesho's (I'm in the back with purple hair) early August of 2013 (faded) late August of 2013; with Katie-cat! early April of 2014; showcasing my badass t-shirt for some reason late April of 2014 June of 2014; I make the most beautiful faces ;)
Just for funsies, an oldie from February 2007, when I shaved my head to support my friend Ari (pictured earlier in this entry, at the hockey game) who was going through chemo for ovarian cancer! It happened to be the exact same day Britney Spears shaved her head, but that's a story for another day.

    That's too funny that you just so happened to shave your head the same day that Britney Spears did!
    I love all your different colors throughout the years. My favorite is definitely whenever you were in the purple/pink phases. :D

      It was especially funny at my job. First, I'd be mistaken for a dude due to my huge, shapeless work(-assigned) shirt. Then once they'd recovered from that minor embarrassment, they'd bring up Britney... to which I would reply, "No, I did this to support a friend of mine going through chemo," and then the rest of the check-out would proceed in awkward silence! I honestly thought it was hilarious, but they usually didn't, hahah
